Yep. I worked my way through college on a small daily. I used to write obits, real estate transfers, ball games, car wrecks and all kinds of important stuff. One time I got a bi-line on page one and I clipped it out and sent it to my mother. I also swept out the composing room, did maintence on Linotypes, read proof and copy, set corrections and poured pigs. By the time I finished school, my passion for journalism had cooled and I became a teacher. Bad move.
