well lessee. I just took a 900 mile round trip last weekend to Elkhart Lake, WI for the SCCA June Sprints at Road America Raceway. A bunch of CRX owners decided to have a meet there, and I was an organizer. Did it go as planned? Well, I didn't plan to open my hood after 400 miles and find a pair of pliers hanging off the engine ground wire ;) I didn't plan for my speedometer cable to snap, which meant that on most of our high-speed fun-drives around the area, I had no clue how fast we were going. I certainly didn't plan for my humble standard model to keep up with the higher horsepower, better suspension models of CRXes that were leading on the fun drives, which were through very twisty and hilly national park roads. I didn't plan to get lost no less than 5 times on the way to the camp ground. That brings me to a complaint.
Wisconsin roads are stupid. Go look at a detailed map of highway 23 near Sheboygan. Find County Road C. Now look farther along the road. You'd think you'd find either County Road B or D, right? Nope! It's county road P. Then County Road J. Well I had been looking for County Road A. So I pass J and P, then C. I figure two roads later would be A. Nope. That's County Road O. County Road A has to be reached by taking J to JO, which then intersects A. Who the hell designed this system? Were they TRYING to get innocent drivers lost? It really didn't help since I was leading a convoy up to the meet, and they were getting pretty ticked at me for driving them on a wild goose chase ;)
