HOW much for a gallon of gas?!!! posted by Beasty on Monday, June 26, 2000, at 02:36:21:
It isn't just the Brits that I feel bad for. I was in Russia in '95 and figured out that a gallon of gas was about $11.
Right now, I am kind of tired of the debates and blame being thrown around by politicians and oil executives. It is a hot topic because it is a presidential election year, but, c'mon, we still pay less than everywhere else and use a lot more! It does seem crazy to me, though, that you would have to by $60 for a tank of gas, so I am not begging for increases over here. I just think we look like idiots when we complain about it like we are.

We currently pay on average 90 pence for a litre. > > How much is that to an American? > > Well, one US gallon is approx 3.8 litres so that's £3.42 already. At an estimated exchange rate of one pound Sterling to 1.60 US dollars we are talking $5.47. and that's just on average! > > Anybody out there ever paid more than $2 a gallon? > > Bea "content with your lot and don't be lu" sty
