Oh, it's often little things. The gentle humour that arises out of everyday events. I don't generally like sitcoms or standup comedy, because even the best "improv" is forced out and rehearsed. Sometimes sitcom capitalizes on a hokey flavour that is excessively underhanded and vicious, I think.

So things I find amusing are like: watching my Dave listen to a repeat of a cartoon he saw recently -- and noticing he laughed at exactly the same kooky joke. Or seeing my kitten actively chase my 2.5 yr-old nephew all around the house (instead of the other way around). Or laughing at myself, like this week, when I tripped going down a gravel-strewn staircase and cut open my palms and ripped up my knee on those awful little sharp-edged rocks. Granted, I'm still hurting over this, and typing anything is an adventure, so maybe there's not that much to laugh about it right now. It only struck me as intrinsically amusing because if I *hadn't* been rushing around at work, trying to find my husband and see if he was ALL RIGHT, then I *wouldn't* have tripped on those stairs and produced a generous amount of blood. As certain persons in RinkChat already know, hurting yourself by doing something really STUPID and living to tell the tale is ALWAYS FUNNY, isn't it?
