I grew up in Hazard, Ky, and spent a great deal of time in Prestonsburg, Blackie, and Fleming-Neon, but I was born down in the flatlands of Lexington.
We had a holler behind our house in Hazard and, except for dry weather, there was a small creek in it. I now live near Knoxville, Tennessee.
