I haven't seen a single episode since, but I remember it well enough to know I probably would *love* seeing it again now -- it could go on Dave's bad movie page easy, were it a movie instead of a television series.

I'm sure it could.

> Sleestacks. (That how they were spelled?) It's real easy to be a Sleestack. You extend your arms somewhat in front of you and make swishing noises with your mouth. It helps if you have a zipper on your back. Only the leader was ever permitted to speak English, if memory serves.

I think the English-speaking Sleestak's name was Enoch (sp?), and he was more like the renegade than the leader, because he was always ready to help out Marshall, Will and Holly (the lost humans). As a group, yes, the Sleestaks were extremely cheesy, having graduated from the old-school monster academy, which instructs aspiring beasties to extend their arms in a grasping manner toward the intended victim and make eerie noises, but never actually take a step towards them.

> I don't remember much more in whole memories -- most are fragmented. I remember these little gazebo things that housed these magic crystal things which were supposed to have the power to get them back home. I remember dinosaurs, and I remember being especially impressed when it was mentioned that the swipe of the dinosaur's tail could kill.

The crystals were always kind of confusing to me; the humans needed Enoch's help to try to figure out the correct pattern in which to place them in their little grids, but for some reason I don't think they ever succeeded.

And let's not forget little Chakka and his ape-man parents (can't recall their names). Chakka had an expression of extreme puzzlement eternally plastered on his face, because the humans were always doing strange, "homo sapiens" things that were hard for him to figure out, like tying vines together to make a rope, or getting hurt and bandaging the wound. I remember skimming through a PC Gamer-type magazine awhile back when the game "NBA Jam" was popular, and the reviewer made several suggestions for "secret" characters that should be included in the game. Chakka was one of the suggestions, and Fat Albert was another. Every now and then I try to picture those two skying for a slam dunk in NBA Jam. Woo-hoo!

Iss "Oh, no! the Sleestak!! Everyone please proceed to the nearest exit in a calm and orderly fashion!" achar
