I agree that TV is abused very, very much in Western society. However, I watch a lot of TV, maybe three hours a night. I used to watch five hours a day when I was little. As I get older, the amount of TV I watch lessens, probably because I have more work to do, and I have an awesome computer.

Nevertheless, when I do watch TV, I find it good and interesting. I don't watch sports on TV, because that bores the hell out of me. I do watch sitcoms, sci-fi, and documentarys. I love those animal programs on the Learning and Discovery channels.

So, is TV a bad thing?

Yes, but the same way light is a bad thing.

You sit in the sunshine wearing sunblock for an hour or two-- that's great. If you sit in the sun for forty hours, you're cooked, literally.

I feel very, very sorry for those who are brought up on TV. But I feel I should make my terminoligy clear here: When I say 'brought up on TV' I mean someone who's been placed in front of that flickering box because of parents who don't give a - about their child's mind. I know people like this, who seem to be very mean on the outside; however, they seem to be nice onwhen you get to know them.

TV has been a part of my life since I was five-- so what? I turned out just fine. I think.
