Not a snack, but a remarkably easy to make dinner item that looks like you took a lot of time making it.

Chicken Cordon Bleu

Ingredients:
chicken breast
swiss cheese
ham
egg
breadcrumbs
thyme or some other herb (optional)
flour

1. preheat oven to 375 or 400 or your favorite chicken-cooking temperature

2. trim off your chicken breast. either flatten the breast (i like to put it in wax paper and slam a frying pan on it) or butterfly cut the breast. If you flattened it, place the cheese and ham on it and fold the breast over, securing with toothpicks. If you butterflied it, stuff with ham and cheese, securing with toothpicks.

3. on cutting board/wax paper/clean counter: flour. bowl number one: egg. bowl number two: breadcrumbs with your thyme or some other herb (optional) -- prepare to enter the wonderful world of breading!

4. breading: get flour on both sides of the chicken breast. drag it through the egg goop. drag it through the breadcrumb mixture. (repeat egg goop/breadcrumb dredging if you like lots of breading.)

5. put it on a cooking sheet and cook for 15-20 minutes. check for doneness by cutting chicken breast -- white meat? good to eat. still pink -- put it back in for five more minutes.

6. take out toothpicks before serving. this is always a good thing.
