So what is coolness?

Nobody thought Clark Kent was cool, and the comic books of course left that part of his life out. Still, the things he did on the edges of his time, as Superman, made all the difference.

In the same way, even someone who cleans up after messy programmers (in more that one sense, I suppose) can be cool by having way-out-of-the-ordinary experiences, especially dangerous ones. :)
