> I'm afraid. I'm afraid that the adolescents of my age will one day take over the world. Recently the faith I have had in teenagers has taken a sharp drop as I watch their festering media-rotten minds leak away any maturity, intelligence, emotion and ability they had left. I have always felt a little out of the crowd, and that may contribute to my blistering opinions of them, but I simply cannot comprehend what drives them to drink recklessly, smoke, toss their virginity out the window, and/or not care at all about anything that really matters in life. I just want to know if someone could help me understand these people.

I never understood my peers either (I'm 19 going on 20), but I also read alot. It seems to be that, with the exception of naturaly mature folk like Pliffliff and me teenagers have always gone though this insanity period. A lot of cultures focus it though comeing of age ceremonies, ritual, or tests. We don't really so the energy that we have at this time period just gets the better of them, leading them into dangers. Some will not return, they will catch an STD, get addicted to something or other, get killed speeding, or some other nastyness, but many of them eventually grow up. That is they way it has always gone and most likely always will.

Oh yeah, there have always been extra-mature outsiders who sit back and watch our peers do this.
