I thought it was just a public awareness thing.("We're company X and we do stuff. Really important stuff that you didn't realize we did. You should thank us.")

As if anyone would suddenly decide to buy all of the car batteries, bug sprays, and aluminum siding in the Beatrice family of products just to be a member of an elite society. Or something.

Last night I saw a commercial for cotton. It's been a while since I've seen this product advertised so it's annoyance was like brand new. Why on Earth would they feel the need to advertise cotton? How often does one go into a clothing store and find a really great shirt made out of (let's say) polyester, right next to the exact same shirt in cotton, thus actually *giving* you the choice of fabric??! I have never seen any item for sale in multiple fabrics, just to give you that extra option. Whomever designed it, chose the fabric, and that's what I'm stuck with, whether that's cotton, silk or polyethyleneglycolcelophaneglucosemandarinorange.
If their target is the clothing/linen manufacturing industry themselves, why not just stick with the trade shows and salemen schmoozing? I just find it silly.... just like the same commercials for plastic. Although, with plastic there's occasionally a choice between buying my food, or whatever, in a plastic container versus glass or aluminum. Still both are valid reasons to channel surf.

Tra "HANG ONE!! ('cause you only need one finger to channel surf... not ten... like when you ocean surf...but that's toes...ten toes...that's why they say "hang ten"...'cause there's ten toes...ya see...but I said "hang one" 'cause you only need one for the remote... and that's why that's funny.... one... maybe just a thumb..." nio
