Nothing wrong with that; so do I, after seeing a friend of mine do the same thing. It's better if you cut the kiwi into slices first instead of just tearing into it whole, as that way you just get a little peel with each bite rather than a lot of peel on a few slices.

Of course, I eat lemon peel (and for that matter, I eat lemons), too.
