Guess what. I just checked my e-mail. Here's what Dell Tech Support replied in light of my recent MS-Fax problems:

Dear Kaz!, (I changed the name)

Thank you for contacting Dell Online Support.

Unfortunately, software support is beyond the scope of assistance that we provide online.

Respectfully,
[Joe "Dell Guy" Schmoe] (name changed)

Saturday - Wednesday 3:00PM to 2::00AM C.S.T.

Dell Online Services

(2 colons with "2::00AM" NOT changed)

-------------

Upon saying that, let's see if Rinkworks can help.

Here's what my problem is:

DELL GUY (just the step I'm having trouble with):

6)Once the computer reboots, double-click on Inbox on the desktop and follow the prompts, making sure it doesn't say that it's adding Microsoft Mail anywhere. You pretty much just hit NEXT whenever that's an option, of course putting in your area code and phone number. When it asks
if you want it to answer every incoming call, I'd say no unless this system will function on its own phone line that serves primarily as a fax-receiving line.

ME:

Thank you for your assistance in this matter; however, there is still a small problem. At step 6, when I click on the inbox, it gives me the error message 'This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down' for a program called "Mapisp32". When I click close, the program still brings me to the inbox setup wizard; however, I get stuck at the "Personal Address Book" section. When I click 'next', an error message reading 'An error occurred while configuring this file as the Personal Address Book. Please choose another file' appears. Clicking 'ok' just brings me back to the "Personal Address Book" section again. I've tried removing and then re-installing the program several times, as well as creating a blank "mailbox.pab" file in the directory where the setup wizard want to install the real mailbox.pab file, to no avail.
