Yep, once again, I post a rant about a new-release (in New Zealand) movie that is probably already on video in the USA and long since forgotten by other forum regulars. Galaxy Quest just came out here, and I went to see it. WOO HOO! Now that's what I call a great movie! I thought it ruled -- the funniest movie I've seen for a long time.

The scariest thing was that a lot of people in the theatre didn't seem to realise why all those scenes and characters at the science fiction convention were so hilarious. (I'd like to think there aren't really people like that out there, but the evidence suggests that there are. Yikes.)

I like science fiction, but spoof/comedy science fiction just blows it away. We need more of it. :-)

BTW, I also saw a preview for The Iron Giant which is coming soon. Anyone seen that? Is it worth seeing?
