I can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with Dave. I think in Imperial units but would not be all that opposed to learning to rethink in metric units, simply because everyone else does it and it's easy to convert things.

To everyone who says they don't ever convert anything, well that's lovely. I do. At my work I'm in charge of entering inovices we recieve into our computer system. Since I work in a place that does manufacturing, we buy a lot of stuff like steel. Which is sold in feet. If an order is placed for say 40 feet of steel rod and we recieve a partial shipment of of say 22'7", and I have to enter that into an inventory system that doesn't understand anything other than straight decimal input (I know it's a stupid inventory system, but still) that means I have to convert 7/12 into a decimal and enter it. If it was in meters this wouldn't be a problem. Dealing with fractions of 12ths or 8ths (in the case of inches) is not nearly as intuitive as dealing in decimals (for whoever asked why a system based around powers of 10s was good, it's because we use a base ten number system), and it just makes things simpler.

At the same time, I'm not up in arms denouncing the evils of the Imperial measurements. It's all well and good to deal with theoretical measurements, but in practicality I can't eyeball something and figure out how long it is in Metric (simply because I don't think that way)...
