However, it seems to be important to some people. I notice the first few races this season, were won by Ford products. Then NASCAR changed the rules, allowing Chevrolets(a GM product) to improve the the air dam under the front bumper. Now GM cars are winning. Jeff Gordon's Chevy is now competative(on the pole at Darlington) and Earnhart is winning in a his. It is beginning to look like NASCAR is manipulating the rules a little too much. I'm fairly neutral on this subject because I have several favorite drivers, at least one in each of the three makes that run in these races, and next year I may have favorites in four makes. But it begins to look like the outcomes are controlled. Rules are good. Water is good, too. However, too much of either can be bad. > Howard
I find NASCAR to be one of the funnier sports in concept. Who can race around an oval course the fastest. What a boring thing! I like the way Sportscenter's Kenny Mayne put it, when he intorduced the highlights of a race on a street course: "...So they decided to race on a street course instead of just running the oval backwards to prove the THEIR CARS CAN TURN TO THE RIGHT"
Finchplucker oh, and I also find it wrong that they continued a race after a tire flew into the stands and killed a spectator. The bad part was that they threw a sheet over him because they couldn't get him out of the stands.
