To those of you who were crossing your fingers, or praying, or doing whatever you do ... it WORKED. I just heard I got my first-choice job. (Those of you who either didn't know or couldn't care less can ignore this post.)

I'm far too excited about this even to use multiple exclamation marks or capital letters. Feel free to use some on my behalf. Six months ago I got a job that doubled my income, now I have a job that pays even more and only involves half the hours. They're giving me my own ISDN connection and I'll be working from home.

I still haven't had an in-person interview, they decided to hire me on the basis of my resume, a test I sent in, and a very long phone call. I'm meeting them at the end of next week to finalise things.

So what's the job? Heh. I'll be back in a couple of days and then I'll tell you all about it. I'm working for a very, very big company which starts with M and ends with T, and Stephen is probably never going to speak to me again. :-)
