Well, as I came to understand it, there are a few reasons why some kids fell like they have to act in a rude, brainless, and generally discriminating manner. I think that the main reason why these people act as they do is becasue they are very egotistical. are often very egotistical. For some reason, they feel like they have to prove that they are the best people in the world, and to get that 'high', they just put everyone else down with no respect or concern for their well being. Also, wanton destruction and violence are other ways of 'showing off their superiority'. Of course, the other reason why they act as they do is that they are immature. I don't think it ever really occurs to some of these people that their efforts to be the best kid in the school makes them look like complete jerks in front of anyone else. After all, what does it prove if you can destroy someone else's work? It's not like that's going to get them anywhere in life.
Personally, I feel lucky becasue I'm in an small school where things like this don't happen. Everyone in this school will generally will lend a helping hand to anyone else who is in need. It's a very good feeling to know that I can leave my locker unlocked and not have to worry about whether or not my stuff will still be there at the end of the day.
