At www.homefreeweb.com you can get access in Canada, as well as many of the search engines (www.altavista.com, www.excite.com....Yahoo! also has free ISP, but it's not yet come to Canada that I know of).

Wow! Talk about responding to an OLD message! Anyway, from that time to this, I found freeweb and that's what I'm currently using. It's slow, but at least it works....50% of the time. That and it's faster then 3web (which was the most horrible ISP I have ever had the misfortune of using).

Sometimes, when you try to use freeweb, you get an error that says that your password is wrong, and then you can't log on for the next few days. If you're really unlucky, you get something that says you put in a fake postal code and your account is deleted. Other than that, it's pretty great because it's free, and there aren't any ads at all!

The problem with the postal codes is that even though freeweb works in Canada, their installation program doesn't. The subject field for entering your postal code is entitled "zip/postal code", but it only accepts 5 numbers as a code, so it really doesn't help. In Canada, postal codes are made up of six digits, three of which are letters.
