A cable car ride is mandatory. A good place to get on is in Ghiradelli Sqaure which has a nice view of the G.G. bridge, and since it's the end of the line, you get to watch how they turn the cars around to go the other direction. Giant turntable?: yes. Motor driven?: no. Two big sweaty guys?: yes.
Try to sit (or stand) within view of the operator. He operates the car by pulling different levers on the floor, I found it interesting in an antiquated sort of way.
You can eat at Bubba-Gump Shrimp Co. at fisherman's wharf. That's all I have to say about that.
