This makes a cold engine start easier. With fuel injection, you don't need one. This one is stuck open and I've tried WD40, carb cleaner, and penetrating oil and applied some pressure. Nada. Anybody have any more ideas?

Back when I was in college, I had a '69 Ford LTD. (Biggest car in the Brazos Valley, m'boy. I could park my current car inside that one. Whups, not two sentences into the story and I'm off on another one. Anyway...) I had just the opposite problem. I couldn't get the carb to stay open. I tried everything, even wound up jamming a pen in there (which worked for a while). What I finally used was Carb Clean. Just soaked the carb hinges in a constant spray for a good afternoon and, well, there you go.
