This may be a tad contraversial, but in all seriousness, I think that life, for humans, plants, animals, bacteria and viruses, exists for us to reproduce. I've been thinking about this for some time now, in a sort of philosophical way, and I have come up with a theorem that most of what we do in life is in order for us to copulate, or for bacteria to divide, or for viruses to inject their RNA into the nucleus of a host cell and create many new viruses. Here's my thinking: I, and you guys, etc. and all of the animals and plants etc. are still alive because we are fit enough, and we carry beneficial traits in our genes. The reason we were put here in the first place was for us to continue the human species, or impala species, or rhododendron species, or whatever applies.
I realise that that was not very articulate, but it's difficult for me to explain what I'm thinking. I hope you get what I'm trying to say.
