20,000 Leagues Under the Sea was definitely Verne's best, but not necessarily THE best. But then, I haven't decided which one I think is best.

Let me recommend "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee."
Read it at your own risk and be prepared to change your thinking about who the good guys are. If you think the Germans were rough on the Jews; If you think ethnic cleansing is bad; Well, this one might really get you to thinking. Warning: There is very little fiction in there.

Also, in non-fiction I recommend Kon Tiki by Thor What's'isname.

Do kids still read Toby Tyler?
