I agree that it would be confusing becasue then we might not be sure in which order all the threads go. Also, just becasue a thread is really, relly, really old doesn't mean that it's dead. Just look at the very first thread - it's being updated every 5000 posts or so. In addition, I spend a LOT of time over the last few days reading ALL the messages from bottom to top in the order of the treads, using the 'display all messages' function. YOu'd be amazed by all the stuff that's on here....and I'm not even sure if I'd more then 10% done yet!
