My name is Lynette Yorgey. Not that hard, right? I'm sure half of you are mispronouncing it wrong right now. Li-net (short i) Your-gee (hard g). The mispronounciations I've gotten of it are horrendous.... people usually get my first name right, but Your-gee (soft g) and You-gay are common. Of course, now my friends call me Lynette Your-gay just to make fun of me. The worst mispronunciation of my first name i've ever heard was earlier this year by a substitue in AP Language.... it was something along the lines of Li-ne-tee-tee (long i). That was horrid.
