Newsweek ran a (very short) story on that phenomenom a while ago. Some other examples:
Saving Private Ryan- Thin Red Line
Braveheart- First Knight- some other similar movie whose name escapes me for the moment
Sixth Sense- Stir of Echos
M"and let's not forget those two Titanic spoofs that are on the way..."el
