Well, my last attempt to clarify the "Y2038 Computer Problem and You" ended in the ignominy of total, incomprehensible jargonese. I wasn't terribly happy with it... Sorry about that. Fortunately, some of my colleagues at work requested more info on Y2038 and how it MIGHT affect things for us, and so we hogged and scraped together a much more user-friendly explanation that I'm going to post next.
