> The Traveler did not gain his powers in y2k. He actually comes from an alternate universe where the Greek tradition of science was not wiped out, so computers did exist in the year 1000, and suffered from the Y1K bug. (orY1Kappa, whatever.) He once had the ability to travel between the dimensions; however, he arrived in this universe and crossed the Y2K barrier, which damaged his abilities. However, he still has the power to shift himself (and a small group of companions slightly out of the 3rd dimension and into the 4-dimensional plane, so for example if someone's about to shoot at him he can shift into the 4-dimensional plane and hang out there awhile. Problem is there's no oxygen over there, so he can't survive there for more than a few seconds without getting a brain hemmorhage and so forth (it's empty space) unless he happens to be wearing a spacesuit or something for some reason. For that reason, he is currently working on designing a light portable spacesuit with Nyperold in order to stay in the 4-dimensional plane for more extended periods of time. Also he has not yet figured out how to shift someone else out without going himself, so he can't just shift his enemies out and leave them to die. (That would be too easy.)

I like this guy and might use him, with Nyperold as a friend/adviosr/sidekick type kinda guy. The name has been used though, in Star Trek: The Next Generation. How about The Cosmic Travler? I can't use Nyperold as an acutal Millenial since, while he is an inventor, he dosen't seem to have any super powers. I may use this guy as the origin for the other characters, his arrival in our time at the moment y2k happened gifted others, around the world, with power.
