I recall a bomb threat, or two, when I was just entering high school many moons ago. But they were simply pranks played by students in order to get a day off. I don't know if the responsible party(ies) were ever caught, but I'd be willing to bet that expulsion would be the extreme of any disciplinary action taken. Whereas today, I wouldn't be surprised if guilty parties would face legal charges.
