Who was it who said that the only thing worse than a tyrant is a tyrant who opresses you for your own good? Something about not having any moral quandries...

Heh. You seem to be of the odd opinion that her mother thinks she's old enough to be engaged.

Sorry if that sounded a little bit bitter... I'm just a little edgy about the way her mother's been acting in general. It's bothering me. The way I feel about our engagement is that these are our lives, and it's our decision. If she doesn't like it, that's fine, she doesn't have to. But she does have to respect her daughter's decision. If we are making a mistake (which, of course, I know we aren't), then that's our mistake to make.
