Don't worry. I'm not trying to sell it. I'm not working for someone who's trying to sell it. But it is an interesting book, at least to those that love words.

I'll just give you the chapter names, followed by what's in there, since it might not be obvious.

The chapter names go A-Z, then Z-A.

Amazing! - the shortest word; the 10 most oft written words; 6 long words: 29, 34, 37, 45, 1000, & 1913 letters long; the most; words that look right; words that look wrong.
Brave New Words - Shakespeare's words; scientific words; war words; 50 years of brave new words(1929-1979); words that J. Swift & S. Johnson wanted to ban; words that the author would have liked to see banned.
Crosswords
the Devil's Dictionary - Whereas most dictionaries seem neutral, the Devil's Dictionary is very cynical.
E.G. - abbreviations.
Full Marx - 1 quote from Karl; 18 quotes from "the one, the only..." Groucho; a Witquiz.
Graffiti-The Greatest(that's *their* dash)
HOG - mnemonics and acronyms.
Incomprehensible Problem In Chinese? - anagrams.
Jumbo - eponyms.
Kan't Spel - spelling errors.
Long Live The Lipogram - see "Lipograms" thread; also a fourth challenge: Mray Had a Little Lamb" with JUST a, c, d, h, i, l, m, n, p, r, s, t; more challenges: "The Star-Spangled Banner", and "Little Jack Horner"; the author relates his own works: "Hamlet" without "i", "Macbeth" with neither "a" nor "e", "Twelfth Night" with neither "l" nor "o", and "Othello" without "o".

Oat Cuisine - about puns, although what oat cuisine has to do with puns I don't know.

Queue In Line - differences between American and British English.

Slanguage - campusese; Winchellese; hip rap; baseballese; jail talk; Varietish; CB talk; black slang.
Two's Company - pairs of words
Unquestionably! - word questions with letters as the focus.
Verse And Worse - words rhymed that are tough; Bronx poetry; Limericks; Haikus; Clerihews; Higgledy-Piggledies; other poetry, including a poem written in verbosese.
