I don't have a welcome mat either. By the time people climb the driveway (which I like to privately think of as the Cliffs of Despair), hit their head on the badly-placed low-hanging eave next to the front door steps, and pick their way through whatever half-eaten mangled object my cat has left for me today, most of them have got the idea.
