When McDonald's runs that Monopoly game, they probably don't ever expect anyone to claim the million dollars, or whatever it is, for getting Boardwalk and Park Place -- but they do acknowledge the possibility (as I did with this contest), and they're *completely* serious.

You know what, though? When writing that journal entry, I did, in fact, remember our discussion and very conscientiously avoided any phrasing that would make any stronger implication of facetiousness.
