Howard, don't worry, it's not just *you*. I was reading the newspapers this morning: I get both a local newspaper (The Montreal Gazette) and a national paper (The National Post). I was surprised that the Gazoo had a front-page article about unseasonably warm *weather* yesterday, and the National, of all things, had a front-page article on the *X-File's* first kiss between ole' S&M. Heh. From this I conclude that basically NOTHING happened in Canada yesterday... or at least, nothing noteworthy to news hounds. Well, they say no news is also good news; it gives you a chance to finally catch your breath between disasters! :-)

No news really is good news. But not if you're in the news business. Back about 1957, when I was a part-time reporter for the Daily News-Journal in Murfreesboro, TN, we had a no-news day. The editor was grumbling about it, so I suggest three inch headlines that said, "Nothing Happened Today." followed by a blank front page. He didn't use my idea, but suggested that I go shoot the mayor.
