Despite some pretty major problems with the first one, I think DePalma at least had the *style* of the series and general tone well. The teaser made the new movie look like John Woo action film meets a Bond flick (speaking of which, am gonna catch TWINE tonight, whoo hoo) and that is not what I want from a M:I movie. Any other thoughts?

I haven't seen anything on it yet. But what I loved about the series was not only the espionage aspect, but seeing the plan formulate, the cool gadgets and any disguises that might be used. Even the realism of seeing them practice at impersonating a polical figure, getting the voice and mannarisms down was a lot of fun. From the descriptions above it sounds like they've discarded those ideas and went directly to a light plot action, which is not what the original spirit of MI was about. There may be some, but it definately took a back seat to seeing the plan executed.

Yikes... gotta go.
