The problem is, none of them are the answer to the question: these aren't things that we use every day.
This problem originally appeared in the form Spider-Boy quoted it from Brain Food, but people who didn't know the answer repeated it to others, and now it's flooding the Internet in a form that HAS NO ANSWER.
This is the single most annoying puzzle ever. I have yet to figure out why, but, on average, I get someone asking me this riddle in email once EVERY THREE DAYS. I have no clue why they think to ask *me*. I'm beginning to suspect it's a practical joke on someone's part.
