It's a relief to know that there are some intelligent, friendly, *funny* people on the net...when I venture into chat rooms or message boards, I'm usually disappointed with the lack of real conversation, and the abundance "a/s/l/pic" whispers.

Hi, new person Grace, I hope you will enjoy this site as much as I do. I'm really the only serious person on this forum. My favorite part of the RinkWorks site is the Really Bad Jokes, so you can see how serious I am. The part about being an English major caught my eye. I used to teach English and wondered if that was your goal. It's a good way to find out if you're going to die of starvation or overwork, but I enjoyed every minute of it. The only time I was a full time English teacher was when I taught 6th grade. The rest of the time, I was a science teacher who kept getting stuck with an extra English or reading class because they could never find enough real language arts people.

Another thing about Rinkworks, is it's a good chance to interact with people who live a long way off. Like New York, New Hampshire, New Zealand, New Jersey and other new places. Then there are people from England, Denmark, Tennessee (that's Dan and me)California and Alaska. Some sites on the World Wide Web are less than world wide, but RinkWorks is a bit of all over. I think some of the posters are from Mars, but you can never be sure.

Remember, you can't study all the time, so here's RinkWorks.
Howard
