So the man in the turban is the prince, who'll pass himself off as a pirate named Sinbad who's here to protect the ships; while Cantu has abandoned prescriptive grammar (one of the assumptions of the salon, i.e. the Enlightenment) in favor of postmodern put-downs and a very strange pidgin.

It all makes sense, but I wonder what the original comic was like.
