I'm more than mildly interested in seeing this, just because the previews I've seen have really kind of captured my imagination ironically in a way the book never did. I've probably also been swayed by the excellent remake of "Wake Up" that Arcade Fire did just for the movie.
> October 23 - Saw VI
Ugh... 6? Really? I guess I've never been much of a horror fan anyway, so... whatever.
> November 6 - The Men Who Stare At Goats
I haven't seen anything for this, but from the description you provided it sounds like X Files meets Black Hawk Down meets the Pelican Brief - not really 3 movies that need to be blended.
> November 20 - Planet 51
I went to school for 3D animation (and now work at a decidedly low-tech newspaper, but I digress) so I always take a good look at the new CGI movies. I haven't seen a ton on this one, but the premise seems decent and the animation looks pretty good. They seem to have some nice character designs.
> November 20 - The Blind Side
Yawn. I hated Rudy (mostly cuz he's a slacker who cries and therefore gets his way. oh wait, he "tries really hard" at the end), and I'll probably never see this.
> November 25 - Fantastic Mr. Fox
Haven't heard of this one yet (my head's been pretty buried under work). I'm intrigued.
> November 25 - Ninja Assassin
Honestly, I'd probably see it just for the title (and never see it again) Who knows, sometimes I like cheesy stuff just for the gouda of it.
> December 11 - Invictus
I like Morgan onscreen, not so much off. I'd be interested in seeing this on DVD
> December 11 - Did You Hear About the Morgans?
Guh, didn't I see this with Tim Allen?
> December 11 - The Princess and the Frog
Big fan of traditional animation. Just hope they don't try to Shrek this one and truly leave it as a well told story beautifully animated.
> December 18 - Avatar
My brother is excited for this. I... meh, don't even feel like finishing my thoughts on it, though I'm sure I'll see it just for the animation at some point.
> December 25 - It's Complicated
All I can think of is Jim Caviezel's response in Count of Monte Cristo, which will I'm sure be a much better use of that line.
> December 25 - Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel
didn't miss the first one by not seeing it, no desire for this one either.
> December 25 - The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus
Intriguing
One that's not on here, likely because it's out now and therefore not a Holiday movie is Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. Dave Kellett, the artist behind my favorite comic Sheldon (www.sheldoncomics.com) is good friends with the 2 guys who dreamed this up and have been working on it for the last 6 years, so I've heard a little more about it than the average movie-goer. On top of that, it looks pretty good to me.
