I just saw "August Rush," which except for a plot based on incredible co-incidence, was a fairly good movie. Cuba Gooding was the nice guy, Robin Williams was the bad guy, and Kerry Russell was the eye-candy. The lead character was a kid with a familar face, but I couldn't identify him. He was more than a little talented, as were some of the kid supporting players. I saw it on a cruise ship. Howard

I thought The Dark Knight and Wall-E were pretty good, but after seeing Slumdog, I don't think either of them stands much of a chance of getting the best picture Oscar.
