Haha. The earliest way I remember being taught didn't even bother to stay in poem form.
Thirty days has September, April, June, and November. All the rest have thirty-one, Which has 28 days except in leap year when it has 29.
(Note: "has" not "hath," but I'm sure "hath" is more correct.)
Later my grandfather taught me the way he knew, which actually mostly scanned:
Thirty days has September, April, June, and November. All the rest have thirty-one, Except February, which has twenty-eight days clear, And twenty-nine every [or each] leap year.
Wikipedia was more helpful on this one than it was for dear old Rudolph. Neat reading.
