The Christmas season always brings, to a television near you, an old Bing Crosby movie called "White Christmas." I've seen it a few times in the past, and I certainly don't plan to watch it again.
However, the Cumberland County Playhouse, just 60 miles to our west, is doing "White Christmas" on their stage, and I'll be there.
I want to compare it to the movie. I know it has a hokie plot, but there is some great singing and dancing involved. Besides, I want to see the folks at CCPH make it snow on the stage. They produced excellent precipitation for "Singing in the Rain," so snow probably won't be a problem.
I wish I could remember all of the plays I have seen there over the last 35 years, but I know they haven't done a turkey yet.
I've seen "Ain't Misbehavin'," "Cats," "Oklahoma," "South Pacific", "Carosel," "Guys and Dolls," "42nd Street." and others.
Expect a review in a few weeks. I think our reservations are Dec. 10. Howard
