In the interest of completion, I should say that they differ in other ways. Non-AGLL text adventure games don't give you a list of options to choose from - you have to figure out your possibilities yourself, and type them with correct spelling and syntax - and you can die in them (depending on the game, sometimes a lot). These issues may not matter to you but they do provide a different feel to the games.
