It's a little silly to jump on the assumption that it's a race thing. Would it help if I also made the same joke about the New Kids, the Backstreet Boys, and N*Sync? Or should I point out that Aretha Franklin, Lena Horne, Etta James, and Gladys Knight, all of whom I love, *do* sound unique to me? But I don't think I should have to qualify observations like this just so people won't think I'm a racist.
But Destiny's Vogue With Voices...yeah, might as well be the same group. They sing the same kind of music in the same kind of way, rose to popularity on the same wave at the same time, and were marketed in a way that recycled each other's successes until the machine wore out in the natural course of things.
For the record, although I'm not a huge fan, I don't dislike them at all. Some of the songs on En Vogue's Funky Divas album are pretty good. I love the soul touch on their cover of Yesterday.
