"I actually got to Oregon a few times, but by jet plane and rented car. In the game, I usually died."
That's hilarious. I never made it a quarter of the way back in school--i don't think anyone in my class ever did. I grew up with a bunch of rednecks who spent all their money on ammo and just hunted, even when they didn't need or could even KEEP the food they shot. They barely even crossed the first river.
Recently, I looked it up online--there's a web-browser version you can play, and I made it with everyone alive and with plenty of supplies left. I still can't figure out how I prevented everyone from dying of Dysentary (or, for some weird reason, broken legs killed a lot of my family back in school).
But thanks for the props on the posters. I got your email, Howard, and made a poster for it. It's up on my blog and deviantART page. Thanks again.

I didn't know beans about computers, but I figured that was a good way to learn. My students taught me plenty. Crazy kids. They LIKED Oregan Trail. > Howard > > > > Had a look and just wanted to say that "Oregon" and "Capslock" had me laughing pretty hard... > > > > > > famous > > > > Thank you. Caps Lock isn't mine, as I mentioned in the blog. > > > > Ironically, my wife thought that Oregon was pretty dumb. But then again, she never had to submit herself to play Oregon Trail for a week back in Elementary School.
