I don't think it would reduce the chances a top-player has to be sniped. Though it might increase the chances every top-player be sniped at least once, which would somewhere restore the balance.

Monster Arena is a bit built like a professional sport season (NBA, NHL, etc), but only with a long pre-season (vs computer) and an elimination season. The only "real season" is the single qualifying round.
