Top 6 Sets of Movie Siblings posted by Nyperold on Monday, March 24, 2008, at 12:05:10:
6. Jane & Michael Banks from Mary Poppins
Jane & Michael are the central characters in this movie, after Mary Poppins herself, of course.
5. Liesl, Friedrich, Louisa, Kurt, Brigitta, Marta, and Gretl Von Trapp from The Sound of Music
Another Julie Andrews vehicle! There are too many of these siblings (seven!) for all of them to get a great deal of screen time, and so most of the attention gets focused on the oldest, Liesl. Still, can anybody who grew up watching this movie forget the famous scenes of the Von Trapp children traipsing all over the Austrian countryside wearing curtains and learning how to sing?
4. The Ryan Brothers from Saving Private Ryan
Though we don't see much of them (two never even appear in the film; we only see the back of a third and the fourth doesn't show up until the final third of the movie), the fate of the four Ryan brothers is the impetus that jumpstarts the plot of this story.
3. Luke Skywalker & Leia Organa from Star Wars (Episodes III-VI)
Despite a terrible family legacy, these two twins rose to the challenge, single-- er, doublehandedly overturning an evil galactic empire. And they did all this without even knowing they were related for most of their lives!
2. Moses & Ramses from The Prince of Egypt
I believe that according to the original Biblical account, Moses and Ramses would have been uncle and nephew, but perhaps it's still feasible that they were raised as brothers, as is shown in this movie. Despite their not being biologically related, the sibling rivalry between them provided a great deal of the dramatic tension in this movie when Moses returns from exile to oppose his adopted brother and free his people from slavery.
1. Raymond & Charlie Babbitt from Rain Main
This one's pretty much all about learning how to be a good brother. Nuff said.
