4 nine week sessions

There is some merit to having a school schedule of four nine week sessions with 4 weeks off in between. (see poll question)
The old nine on, three off dates back to the days when kids were needed for farm work. We kept it mostly because schools were not air conditioned until long after most homes were.
But that schedule means that most people with kids, take their vacation in the summer. After I retired, I found that spring and fall vacations were great. Prices were low and crowds were thin, because the kid were in school. By changing the schedule, we could spread the tourist business over the whole year. That would level out traffic and crowds. Off season prices might disappear, but with business spread over a longer period, folks in the tourist business would not feel a need to make it all during a short three-months period.
Also, people would have more choices. Skiing vacations, desert vacations, beach vacations, mountain vacations at different times of the year. July is not a good time to go to the desert, and there are better times to go skiing. Howard PS: Sorry about the incomplete sentence. I saw it, but it said what I wanted to say so I left it.
