Ok, enough is enough. Here are the facts.
1. A bunch of people come pouring in the chat room all at the same time. They are named "codeman37", "ThePlant", "Robbak", "Rabbitlord", and "namie."
2. We once had people named "Robbak" and "Rabbitlord" here, but their usernames expired from disuse. We also have or had users named "codeman38", "ThePhan", and "nomie".
3. You admit to knowing nomie, so your choice of a similar name is not coincidental. True, there is nothing wrong with "namie" as a username. But your appearance as "namie" at the same time four other people are logging in with similar usernames to known users is NOT coincidental.
4. These five users did indeed log in via different IP addresses. That suggests to me that it's five other people, although certainly it could be one person logging in through different ISP's or proxies. Frankly, though, it doesn't make any bit of difference, because whether it was one person or five, it obviously was all a coordinated effort.
So what are we supposed to conclude about your purpose for logging into chat at that time? That you're not just there to mess with people? I wasn't there at the time, so I won't speak for the ops that kicked you out, but if I had been there, my only question would have been whether you were messing around in a good-natured way or whether you were just trying to rile people up. The ops who were there at the time waited, as I would have, to see what you all would be doing. The logs indicate that there were five full minutes of conversation between the time you entered and the time you were kicked. Time enough to see what you were all doing with those usernames, especially when people were greeting you and asking you what was up. Then another six minutes between the kicking and the banning, during which time you were asked again point blank what was going on. You all either ignored the questions or answered evasively. Meanwhile, the lines of conversation you were generating were, while not in and of themselves offensive, a whole lot of nonsense that disrupted the preexisting conversation without offering anything of substance in return.
If you seriously wanted to come into the chat room and be a part of it, you wouldn't have done all that screwing around. If you had come in with honest usernames, or even if you had used "namie" but come in alone, everybody would have assumed you were there because you honestly wanted to hang out in the chat room and see what it was all about. But the way it went down, no way can you expect anybody to believe your motives were above board. Come on. We're not idiots.
Personally, I think it goes deeper than that. I think I know exactly who you are, and what baffles me is that you apparently haven't done one iota of growing up over the last few years. At the rate you're going, you're still going to be a punk kid at 40, which will be pathetic beyond words.
On the off-chance you're not who I'm pretty sure you are -- well, frankly it doesn't matter, because you were still just screwing around with people. I'm not about to apologize on behalf of the ops because they didn't make suckers out of themselves for you.
