As promised, here is my Own List. I am posting it *before* reading anybody else's replies to this message...

6. Chicken Run

This movie is about chickens trying to escape from the prison of the chicken farm that they live on. Their primary motivation for wanting to escape is the desire to avoid *becoming* food.

5. Alien

Maybe some will find this pick a little dodgy, but what's the first thing you think of when remembering this movie? The dinner scene. And of course, you could also argue that one of the alien's primary motivations for stalking the crew of the spaceship is food.

4. Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit

Wallace & Gromit are trying stop a scourge of rabbits from stealing food from the townspeople's gardens and ruining a vegetable-growing competition. Food. Also thrown in is Wallace's continuing struggle to overcome his overwhelming love for cheese. Also food.

3. Short Cuts

One of the central plot points of the movie is the birthday cake baked by Lyle Lovett's character. Birthday cake is food! I'll say na'more in case you've not seen this movie before.

2. The Terminal

One of the things that Tom Hanks' Viktor Navorski must deal with while trapped for months on end in the terminal at JFK airport is how to obtain food. Several humorous scenes in the movie revolve around this plot point.

1. Ratatouille

This wonderful movie from Pixar will be out on DVD soon, so if you haven't seen it yet, do yourself a favor and get it on day one. The food is so central to the story of this movie that it's almost like another character.
